Capture the uniqueness of the N4 and stand a chance of winning

The N4 Toll Route, from Tshwane in Gauteng to Maputo in Mozambique, is undoubtedly one of the most scenic roads in South Africa.  It is known for its tranquil surroundings, luscious scenery and distinctive geological and tourist attractions – in fact it so unique and distinctive that no amount of adjectives can do it justice.

In view of this, the concessionaire of the road – Trans African Concessions (TRAC) – has decided to showcase the route’s splendour through its 2015 Calendar, which will be compiled through the TRAC N4 2015 Calendar Photography Competition.

The TRAC executive calendar (one page a month) is presented annually to TRAC’s directors, investors, management and the company’s best customers.

* Entry is free.
* Entries open on 17 June, 2014 and close on 31 August, 2014.
* Entries must be submitted online at www.tracn4.co.za
* Only digital entries permitted.
* Online entries can not be bigger than 1MB. Entries must be minimum 300 dpi and A3 size.
* Entrants may be requested to submit (by courier) a print of their digital entry for evaluation and voting purposes. Such submissions must be made out to TRAC PR Department, Portion 1, remainder of Portion 13 Farm Riverside, 308JT Halls Gateway, Nelspruit, 1200 (Be Visible - Address must also be on submission form)
* Photos can be of anything or anyone along the N4 Toll Route (in both South Africa and Mozambique) and should highlight the aspects that make this a well-travelled road.
* Only full colour, landscape entries will be considered.
* There is no limit to the number of entries per entrant.
* Basic image adjustments (brightness, contrast, saturation, hue, blur, sharpen, dodge, burn) may be applied to entries, however entries that have undergone extensive digital editing or have been edited with pre-set filters will be inadmissible.

* Winner: Nikon SLR Camera (model still to be confirmed)
* Top 13 Finalists: 4 GB memory card courtesy of Kodak Crossings in Nelspruit.
The top 13 entries will feature in the TRAC 2015 Calendar along with the byline of each photographer.
* The winner and finalists will be contacted via email or phone.
* The winner and finalists (and their entries) may be listed and posted on a variety of media platforms including, but not exclusively, electronic, social and print media.
* Prizes have to be collected in person by the winner and the finalists, who must also present their IDs/passports on collection.

* Voting will be done by professional photographer and owner of Kodak Crossings Nelspruit, Heinrich Human, and TRAC management.
* The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered in to.

Competition Terms and Conditions
By entering this competition you certify you are the sole copyright owner of the photo/s entered, or have the owner’s permission to submit it.
* By entering this competition you certify that you have obtained any necessary consent of all identifiable subjects visible in your submitted entry/entries.
* In consideration of acceptance of your submitted photo/s as part of the TRAC N4 Calendar Photography Competition, you hereby grant TRAC, and others with TRAC’s consent, the right to copy, distribute, publish, display and otherwise use the photo/s for the purposes of the competition as well as any other publicity, advertising and promotional campaigns and events.
* You agree that the photo may be cropped, edited, electronically manipulated or otherwise altered, and that whether the photograph is used is entirely for TRAC to decide.
* This competition is open to all amateur and professional photographers, including TRAC employees (excluding TRAC’s Exco and Manco members).
* You accept that any photograph entered into the 2014 TRAC N4 Calendar Competition is subject to disqualification and removal by the administration due to contraventions or violations of the competition terms and conditions.
* Although the TRAC executive calendars will not be retailed, TRAC nevertheless reserves the right to use any income generated from the calendars and/or the 2014 Calender Competition as it pleases.
