Marrow bones

Cost effextive as a main dish, working on 4 marrow n=bones/person - you'll pay approx. R3/person

Can also be used as a side dish to soup.


4 marrow bones per person
Salt to taste

Boil for half an hour in salted water or in the soup if that is how you're serving it. Remove the marrow from the bones and set aside.


Three-day old, un-sliced bread

Cut as thinly as possible and pplace high up in an oven at 160 degrees for 8 minutes or until golden brown. As a main curse, three slices per person

Butter your Meba toast and spread marrow thickly on top.
Grind on black pepoper and rough salt to taste.
A dash of Tabasco should the fancy take you.
Finish off with a squeeze of lemon and oregano.

Serve with a green salad and vinaigrette ddressing
